Today, one in four Cleveland children test positive for lead poisoning before Kindergarten, with lead-based paint and dust in structures constructed before 1978 representing the most common form of lead exposure. I worked alongside the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition (LSCC) to develop a comprehensive awareness campaign to educate Clevelanders on the dangers of lead and the resources and funding available to owner-occupied and rental property owners for remediation and clearance.

Members of Cleveland families and others most at risk for lead exposure represented the "Faces of Lead," with several residents acting as storytellers to build awareness around lead safety and the support available to both tenants and property owners.
